Tropical zodiac sign: what it is and how we calculate yours
The tropical zodiac is the twelve-sign system most often used in Western horoscopes: Aries through Pisces. Each sign corresponds to a stretch of the year based on the Sun’s apparent position; at birth, the Sun was in one of those stretches, and that is the basis of the tropical Sun sign. On QueSalióHoy we use the same dates and rules as our horoscope calendar and each sign’s profile page, so the whole site stays consistent.
To know only the tropical sign, you do not need your birth year: day and month are enough, because sign boundaries repeat each year (we do not use finer technical variants here). Other astrological approaches—such as rising sign or sidereal positions—may require time and place of birth or a different calendar; this page is limited to the tropical Sun sign, aligned with the rest of our content.
This tool is for quick lookups and for sign-based games or draws such as Panama’s Gordito del Zodíaco: you can confirm your sign and jump to its profile or the full twelve-sign calendar. The result is for reference only; it is not professional advice.
How to use the calculator
- Select your birth month and day (civil calendar order).
- Tap the button to see your tropical sign name and its date span in our calendar.
- From the result you can open the sign’s profile on QueSalióHoy or return to the zodiac calendar.
